Eligibility Criteria

General Duty (GD)

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level. Candidates with diplomas must also have physics and mathematics in their curriculum.
  • Age Limit: Born between July 1, 2000, and June 30, 2004 (inclusive).

Technical Branch

  • Educational Qualification: Engineering degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, or related disciplines. Electrical or Electronics Engineering disciplines are also eligible.
  • Age Limit: Born between July 1, 2000, and June 30, 2004 (inclusive).

Selection Process

The selection process consists of five stages:

  1. Stage I: Coast Guard Common Admission Test (CGCAT):
  • A computer-based online screening test with 100 multiple-choice questions covering English, reasoning, numerical ability, general science, mathematics, and general knowledge.
  1. Stage II: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB):
  • Includes a Computerized Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
  1. Stage III: Final Selection Board (FSB):
  • It comprises a psychological test, group task, and personal interview.
  1. Stage IV: Medical Examination:
  • Conducted at Base Hospital in New Delhi.
  1. Stage V: Induction:
  • Training at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala.
